It’s amazing how much we know or don’t know about the planets and other objects in space. This is very interesting times we live in with Astronomy. We started out just looking up at the stars watching them and charting the movements, and in that alone much knowledge was discovered. Then Galileo came along and used the telescope to look up with. Look where that technology has gone in the last 400+ years. We have radio telescope as large as 1,500 meters, there are talks about optical telescopes reaching 100 meters across. We have telescope in orbit above the earth that give us far better views of the night sky objects. So it seems the next evolution in astronomy is robotic space craft to give us views and samples of the planets, asteroids, and comets. I think this is a prelude to the next step of sending people into space to better explore these things above us in the night sky.
I was busy with work and other things and before I knew it March was over. I did get out the April Newsletter last night. If you did not get it please let us know…
Thanks for your support.

'
Very fascinating!
I counted six currently active space missions beyond Earth. So much to keep up on and learn about! I didn't know Cassini has been orbiting Saturn for seven years. Interesting that amature astronomers brought attention to the new storm.
Missed the BAG newsletter last month but I understand. Looking forward to Saturday night.
